Long story short: it's all about passion. We are ordinary people who became vicious Vikings. Among us there's a school teacher, photographer, student, lawyer, musician, media worker... We all have two things in common: we are science fiction and fantasy fans and we are keen on history. After 9 years of reenacting and over 100 events in Poland, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Germany, England and Belgium we are still discovering the amazing world of Early Middle Ages.
Name of group ("Herbarii Posnanienses") reflects both the craft and the local patriotism of its members ("Herbalists from Poznan"). Our history begins one summer evening at 2001, when three girls and one guy from the Sci-Fi Club decided to engage in a live version of early Middle Ages. The craft of herbalism was ladies' choice, obviously.
We have started as a bunch of friends, but now we are like a family - for some of us literally. We are still focused on herbalism with a dash of handicraft (naalbinding, embroiderying, weaving, sewing). As craftsmen and merchants we travel across Poland and Europe, visiting festivals and markets, giving workshops at museums and bringing history alive to schools.
